Job Summary
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing clinical operations within our in-home medical practice. This role involves managing nursing staff, lab operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the practice. The Nursing Supervisor acts as a leader, mentor, and liaison between nursing staff and administrative personnel, promoting a collaborative and patient-centered work environment. Additionally, the Nursing Supervisor will oversee management of Medicare programs such as Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) to enhance care for patients.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing and clinical support staff using productivity metrics set by administration.
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Chronic Care Management and Remote Patient Monitoring to act as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance on complex issues.
- Lead efforts to improve patient care quality and safety, implementing initiatives as necessary and identifying opportunities for improvement and streamlining workflows.
Staff Management
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing or other clinical staff including laboratory personnel.
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
- Conduct performance evaluations, chart audits, set goals, and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
- Address and resolve personnel issues promptly and effectively.
Patient Care and Experience
- Monitor patient care delivery to ensure it meets practice standards and patient satisfaction goals.
- Address escalated patient concerns and collaborate with the care team to resolve them.
- Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to develop and implement care plans.
Operational Efficiency
- Develop and implement workflows that enhance clinic efficiency and patient flow.
- Collaborate with administrative and billing teams to optimize resource utilization.
- Participate in budgeting processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising care quality.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing activities and patient care.
Professional Development and Education
- Coordinate continuing education and training programs for nursing staff.
- Stay current with developments in nursing practices, primary care trends, and healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
Education
- Nursing license, preferred
- Candidates with strong management skills and background in healthcare will be considered
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a primary care office
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience managing Medicare programs such as Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) is strongly preferred.
