Overview
We are seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Healthcare Business Systems and Data Analyst (BSDA) to support operations and decision making across a complex healthcare delivery organization. This role blends advanced critical thinking and data analysis with business insight, requiring a self-directed professional who can operate independently, take ownership of outcomes, and partner effectively with leadership.
BSDA serves as a critical link between clinical, operational, financial, administrative and technology departments for the development, implementation, enhancement, support, and maintenance of processes used in operations of At Home Harmony lines of business. These processes could entail various operational and system workflows, quality assurance and audit, and data/report/analytics output for the purposes of continuously improving efficiency, accuracy, timeliness; supporting regulatory compliance; enhancing patient outcomes and enabling data-driven decision-making. The BSDA translates business needs into system and data requirements, implements by way of configuration and development of workflows, and delivers actionable insights through reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
This position is full-time and based in-office, reporting directly to the SVP of Technology, Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Identify and analyze business needs and processes, conduct requirements gathering, and define scope and objectives.
- Perform data and information gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending to develop appropriate process changes.
- Develop gap analysis with leaders and identify improvement opportunities and initiatives.
- Create SWOT assessments and analyze the ROI for enhancements.
Systems Analysis, Configuration, and Implementation
- Become proficient in various systems and platforms used by the organization to enable ongoing build and enhancements.
- Identify training gaps and create training opportunities when needed, including guidance on best practices and exception handling.
- Review technology solution designs with technology project team to ensure they meet requirements, are scalable and high quality.
- Lead the deployment/launch of pilot or GA project phases, to include defining performance/completion/success criteria, developing test scenarios/cases, and curating the steps/tasks to complete the goal(s)/objective(s).
- Work extensively within our portfolio of EHRs (e.g., AthenaOne, TimeDoc, SuiteRx), automation platform (Salesforce, Mulesoft), and MS Office Suite.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports across clinical, operational, and financial/billing domains, across all lines of business.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, to include clinical encounters, quality, charges, and reimbursement data.
- Deliver actionable insights to leadership through clear visualizations and presentations.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
- Support healthcare quality reporting initiatives, including internal metrics and external regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze performance indicators and outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to improve care delivery through data insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, health management, computer science or engineering, or other data or information science discipline.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with business processes and data domains in healthcare, including but not limited to below. Preferred 5+ years’ experience.
- patient / beneficiary outreach and engagement
- practice / provider office operations, including registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and management.
- practice-billing and revenue management.
- primary care, home-based care, or long-term care
- CMS-regulated delivery / innovation programs
- Value based care, accountable care organization or managed care healthcare delivery programs
- care coordination programs.
- Strong problem solving and leadership capabilities. Preferred 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
- At least 3 years’ experience with systems supporting our lines of business. Preferred experience with one or more of the following: Athena EMR, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Population Health and Care Management platforms.
- Preferred experience with Value Based Care or Accountable Care Organizations requirements, data ingestion, data analysis, data submission.
- Preferred experience with Medicare risk adjustment methodology and data models, such as HCC.
