At Home Harmony (athomeharmony.com) is a team-based, home-centered care model for medically complex older adults that supports patients in private homes and senior living communities.

We are experiencing growth and expansion across our lines of business and therefore looking to add to a dynamic leader to our team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller/Director of Finance to lead our accounting department at At Home Harmony. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare finance and accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for improving financial operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., GAAP, HHS).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Lead, train, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and provide insights for operational improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree and/or CPA certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2 years in a management or leadership role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare accounting practices and regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Intacct, Salesforce)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, good understanding of data model concepts, and familiarity with SQL for data analysis and reporting.    Exposure with databases a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial and billing information.
  • Collaborative team player with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter attitude.
  • Experience with healthcare EMR and billing software (Athena experience preferred).
